Chief Executive – Elizabeth Harding
Elizabeth has worked at the Unit since late 2003 and is responsible for the strategic direction and development of the Unit along with the operational management. She works closely with the Board of Directors and with Sharon, the Business and Information Manager to keep the Unit moving forward.
Working in a number of youth work organisations over the past 28 years in urban and rural settings and in the statutory and voluntary sectors has given her a broad base of experience. Retaining a passion for youth work, Elizabeth advocates for it at every opportunity. As part of her role Elizabeth works with Heads of IYS and the Strategic Leads for Youth Work in the 23 Local Authorities. She develops and maintains strong relationship with our regional and national partners e.g. Government Office for the North West, National Council for Voluntary Youth Service, NHS North West and UK Youth Parliament.
Elizabeth has worked with a range of organisations such as libraries, NHS and GONW to both promote good practice of young people’s participation and to develop further the voice and influence of young people on a regional level. A member of GONW Steering Group on Young People’s Engagement and a member of the North West Youth Libraries Board Elizabeth also Chairs the Participation Workers Network – North West Steering Group.
